What documents do I need?
Great question. The IRS requires that you document and report all income earned during the year. So, a record of your income is necessary for us to be able to report it. This usually comes in the form of W-2s and 1099s.
Certain tax deductions, such as medical expenses, charitable giving, and certain educational expenses, can also reduce your taxes. Walk in and we'll help you gather all of the documents you need!
How do I upload my documents?
- First, we’ll need to onboard you as a client.
- Once onboarding is complete, you’ll receive a secure link to set up your client portal.
- After your portal is set up, you can upload your documents anytime, from anywhere.
- Prefer not to upload them yourself? Feel free to walk into our office, and we’ll take care of uploading your documents for you.
How does 1099 tax filing differ from W-2 filing?
1099 filers report income as self-employed individuals and may need to pay self-employment taxes, while W-2 filers have taxes withheld by employers.
We guide you through deductions and credits specific to your filing status to optimize your return.
When is the deadline to file my taxes?
The standard deadline for individual tax returns is April 15th each year unless it falls on a weekend or holiday, which may extend the date slightly.
Extensions can be requested, but any owed taxes should be paid by the original deadline to avoid penalties.
